I thought I'd tell you all the story behind the paintings I've been uploading today to the Mary Livengood folder. Mary Livengood was my mother, and she passed away in 2009. She had always painted so when we cleaned out her studio we expected to find unfinished pieces. However, what we found were stacks of watercolors that simply blew us all away. Stunningly detailed flowers, landscapes from her last "big vacation" to Hawaii, and more. All of which she'd deemed not good enough. She obviously thought of these as practice and scraps. Most are painted on both sides of the paper (fortunately it was thick enough to not bleed) and some have sketche

I have a project on Kickstarter to fund the initial print run of notecards featuring my late mother's gorgeous watercolor floral and landscape paintings. Last winter I borrowed money for a small print run of her poinsettia painting. These became so popular with family and friends (and friends of friends) that I needed two more print runs. This fall, I'd like to add more designs to the collection and display them at arts and craft fairs around the area. The money raised will pay for printing, shipping, and display racks. The cool thing about Kickstarter is that you can pledge any amount (over $1) but no money changes hands unless I actually
